Shadow Archetype
According to Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, archetypes are innate universal psychic dispositions that form the substrate from which the basic themes of human life emerge. Being universal and innate, their influence can be detected in the form of myths, symbols, rituals and instincts of human beings. Archetypes are components of the collective unconscious and serve to organize, direct and inform human thought and behavior.
An original abstract expressionist painting inspired by Carl Jung. In my previous career as a psychiatric RN I worked with a well known psychiatrist who lived and breathed Carl Jung. I find my previous work still heavily influences my paintings
This original explores the 'shadow archetype'..the shadow arhcetype often appears in my dreams as a symbol or omen of foreboding
Medium: Gel image transfers in multiple layers, oil paint, ink, natural beeswax on primed MDF hardboard

Very interesting, Renee! And a wonderful piece!
Interesting! I am a bit familiar with Carl Jung....Your piece is beautiful. I am just stopping by to say thanks for what you said on my blog. I sympathize and praise you for moving on and not giving up on art. You are obviously very talented and I am sure you are meant to create.
Blessings,
Jane

Rather interesting and I do love crows. This year I am living in 1955, but last year, when I was painting, I went through an entire period involving crows. Perhaps I was painting into my future endeavor, who knows. Nice blog.
I live in the Shadows...And now, the Shadows live with me. It's beautiful! More striking, and pausing in real life...Like a long ago window....
I peer and wonder if I pulled my armsleeve down and rubbed the age off, the earth and the wind, if there were more to see
behind the rheumy window...
It's beautiful!
